-History-
The Coccole il Mostro has resided in secret for centuries. Their kind shelters in only one country which is Italy. This species warily watches over Italy with a benevolent eye. In the times of the Roman Empire, they were revered as great spirits sent from the Roman gods. The coccoles were pampered and treated with high respect. Once every week there was a feast held for the creatures so that they would send good word to the Roman gods. These nice gestures and rituals wore thin for the coccoles as the Roman Empire fell. As barbarians swept in, the people saw the Coccole as bad omens. They killed thousands of them for their fur and meat, hoping to wipe them out. The coccoles fled to the mountains, losing all trust in humanity which they did no wrong to. The coccoles soon disappeared from man's thoughts until centuries past. In WWII, money and food was scarce due to war. Italians turned to the legend of the Coccole which they had forgotten long ago. The humans braved the harsh mountains, but few were able to reach the Coccole. The creatures knew they were being hunted, and made the mountains more treacherous then nature had created. The Italians gave up, as too many people were lost on there way to the summit.
-Present Day-
The Coccole il Mostro is still heavily cautious of the human race. However, their benevolence won them over. Brave youngsters wander down from the mountains, and often leave gifts of some form to the people. These gifts can be things such as wisdom, art, scientific knowledge, and good health. They do this as they believe that one day, the humans would need all the knowledge in the world to keep them alive.
-Appearance-
They have a very long slinky furried body, much like a ferret. They can twist their bodies into multiple loops and can squeeze into any space due to them not having a collar bone. Their heads are flat with furless faces and reptilian nostrils. Their ears are also furless with ribbed insides. The teeth are fanged, with only three teeth protruding from the lip. The fur is extremely fine, much like silk, and attaches under the chin. The fur poofs out around the neck and then thins out at the shoulders. The fur can be stylized however is preferred including buns, bangs, and ponytails. Males have a habit of clipping their floof.
They have somewhat stocky feet with four toes and thumb on each foot. They have no tail, only their hindquarters being poofy. Females are the only ones that have feelers, as this appeals to the males.
-Colors-
They have a wide range of colors however the Coccole have simple patterns. The coloration NEVER appears on the neck. Their furless faces are usually a darker shade of a color on the body. The inside of their mouths are the same as the inner ear.
-Reproduction-
Mates like any other animal. To attract a mate, they must attract each other, meaning it must be mutual attraction. Females attract males with their feelers which house pheromones. The longer and more whispy a female's feelers are, the more a male is attracted to them. If a male is attracted to a female, he will try to get her attention. Males do this by doing flight displays, trying to go as fast as they can as well as looping their bodies as much as possible. If the chosen female likes his display, then she will join him in flight. These creatures mate for life.
